We sold our house in early June 2026 and visited Glenna’s family in Canada for two weeks. They all live in several towns and cities just north of Toronto. It is beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing everyone before moving to Bangkok. In a year, we will be returning to Canada to buy a home and settle down once more. With this in mind, we are looking for the best area to move to in 2027.
The Barton Trail is in Uxbridge, the trail capital of Canada. It is our top choice to live.
Lots of ponds, rivers and lakes
Lake Simcoe is one of the largest lakes in Canada, with lots of wildlife and expensive homes and cabins.
The farther north you get, the more lush and beautiful
The trail is both paved and gravel. Great for both walking and riding
