Glenna and Rita flew to Chiang Mai on Sept 28 and stayed for four days. I was told I wasn’t needed and stayed back at our apartment, cleaned up and prepared for their return.

They stayed at the Terracotta Arts Hotel in the old section of the city

Chiang Mai is one of Thailand's most interesting cities, rich in history, temples, food, mountains, and traditional Thai culture. Chiang Mai is the largest city in northern Thailand and means "New City."  King Mangrai founded Chiang Mai in 1296.

Chiang Mai Province has 1.8 million people. It is about 370 miles (595 km) by air from Bangkok and takes about an hour and twenty minutes to fly there.  Chiang Mai Province had approximately 11.49 million visitors in 2024. This included both Thai and international visitors. Of these, about 8.0 million were Thai visitors, and roughly 3.49 million were foreign visitors.

There were small, quaint restaurants all around their hotel. One of their favorites was across the street, Faces

But, they didn’t just eat.
