Japan 2023 - 2025
A trip to Tokyo won’t be complete without visiting the Shinjuku Cat

Over the past two years, we’ve traveled to Japan three times, with stays ranging from two weeks to just over a month. My connection to the country runs deep. I was born in Nagoya, attended high school in Tokyo, and after graduating from college, began my first job as a U.S. Marine stationed in Okinawa. I started practicing judo at the age of five and continued training through university. Over the years, I’ve made several attempts to learn Japanese, though I can’t claim much success. Even so, my affection for Japan has only grown, and I look forward to returning again and again in the years ahead. Most of these photos were taken in Tokyo, with a few from Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Miyashima, and Hiroshima.
