Hua Hin is one of Thailand's oldest and most relaxed beach resorts. Located about 125 miles southwest of Bangkok on the Gulf of Thailand, it has long been a favorite getaway for both Thai families and international visitors. Unlike some of Thailand's party destinations, Hua Hin is known for its laid-back atmosphere, golf courses, seafood, and royal connections.
Hua Hin became famous in the 1920s when King Rama VII built the summer palace Klai Kangwon Palace, whose name means "Far from Worries." Since then, the town has remained closely associated with the Thai royal family, giving it a more refined and peaceful character than many beach towns.

We could walk for miles. While it was hot, there was a nice breeze.

It was getting a bit warm, so we stepped inside of a little bakery for a drink and snack.
We drove from Bangkok to Hua Hin in less than three hours and stayed at The Standard. It is on the beach, in a park-like setting. We spent a relaxing four days with a day trip to Phraya Nakhon Cave
