The last place we visited before flying home was Batu Caves, 13 miles north of Kuala Lumpur. It was built in 1890 and dedicated to the Hindu god of War and Victory. The statue is 140 feet tall.

It is 272 hard steps up to the top

It is an active temple, and many Hindus make a pilgrimage here.

It is very impressive once you make it up to the top where the cave is located.

There are gangs of long tailed macaques aggressively going after the climbers’ food and valuables.

We eventually had to come back to the city to go home.
