We took one day to go to Mt Takao, an hour west of Tokyo on the Keio Line
From the train station, we took the chairlift halfway up
Hard to believe that we were so close to Tokyo
A small graveyard on the way
"Good Luck Pulling Octopus" - meaning -
"to pull good fortune toward yourself."
Was this better?
A list of donors to the park and mountain.
When we got to the top, we were so proud of ourselves until we saw 100s of little kids who just made the climb.
Then we started our hike up to the top to see Mt Fuji
It was an easy 1-hour walk. Lots of families and children.
Almost at the top
Kanji gone bad
Daitengu (Great Tengu) on the left and Karasu Tengu (Crow Tengu) on the right. Spirits to protect the mountain.
Pat giving support to Tim. It is only another 20 minutes
We couldn’t see Mt. Fuji this time. Hopefully we will get to see it before we leave Japan
