Norway was our last stop on our self-described “survey course” tour through Scandinavia. We just touched down in the major cities in these countries as we had to get back to the US and Canada before school started. We were very impressed with all of Scandinavia and hope to return one day and spend a bit longer in each country.
Norway has an interesting history dating back to the Viking Age between 800 and 1050 ACE, through the Middle Ages and the occupation by Nazi Germany in the Second World War. It is one of the most educated and wealthiest nations in the world. Its capital is Oslo and has a population of 5.5 million.
Our trip was in July 2008.
We were planning on going to the harbor, but they had other plans
