When I talk to people about travel, I am often asked, “What is your favorite country or place you have visited?” I usually don’t know how to respond. I don’t have a favorite place or country. There are countries with great food. Places with great beaches. Some countries and cities have excellent museums and cultural centers. Sometimes I want to relax, and sometimes I want stimulation and excitement.
I also hesitate to give my opinion because we all have different interests, opinions, and tolerances. I know many people who hate large, crowded cities and want a tranquil, peaceful setting. Others want familiarity with food and culture, while others want to be on the edge and experiment with everything new.
However, the most interesting country I have ever visited is India. As soon as you step off the plane (and sometimes on the plane), there is a sensory explosion.
